After over 2 years of the original iPhone SE launch, Apple will reportedly release a second-generation model.
Unfortunately for iPhone SE fans hoping for a major update, that is not likely to happen, according to case makers who spoke with Mac Otakara. They said that it would be a spec bump featuring an A10 fusion chip that’s featured in the iPhone 7 series.
It’s expected to look the same as the previous iPhone SE according to Mac Otakara, with the same dimensions and form-factor. And Touch ID is expected to return. Although he is unclear whether this iPhone SE refresh will support wireless charging or not.
The iPhone SE refresh is expected to join the current iPhone lineup when apparently announced in May, replacing the original iPhone SE and joining the iPhone 6s, 7, 8 & X series of phones.
iPhone SE 2 rumours have been all over the web in the past few months, with many staring to speculate that the rumoured budget 6.1” iPhone X2 could possibly be an iPhone SE refresh, but this rumours sheds a light on many iPhone SE fans who were hoping for a spec upgrade at a decent price tag.
