Microsoft Office applications for Mac will soon see major changes.
When macOS Mojave was released, it brought along a great new dark mode. Developers have had the option to add support for it with their apps, as many have done, and now it seems Microsoft is also going to be doing that.
Akshay Bakshi, Office Product Manager, on Twitter, said that support for the Dark Mode will be coming soon in a new update to the Office apps on Mac.

However, it doesn't seem that all the suite will be gaining support: only Word, Excel and PowerPoint for now. OneNote may be coming later, as spotted in a reply from the product manager.
It also looks like Microsoft Office for Mac is gaining the refreshed interface that Windows users have already got (or are slowly getting). It brings new iconography and a simplified ribbon too. Outlook for Mac is getting the largest update.
The new update is available to Office Insiders right now and will come out to the public sometime soon.
