Facebook is testing a lite version of its app for iPhone users.
Facebook Lite, that's already available on Android, is being tested in "certain regions" on iPhone. It's designed for people who want to save data.
The app itself is only 5MB, much smaller than the Facebook app for iPhones and iPads, and has been made to consume less battery and data. It's mostly for regions where data packets are high in cost, or hard to renew.
This comes years after the Android version was launched in 2015 for testing in the US and UK.
There's a trend for lite apps, with many major developers offering slimmed-down versions of their apps, but annoyingly these are mostly released on Android. We'll have more soon.
