In a new report, Taiwanese manufacturer Quanta say they will manufacture Apple's 'inexpensive notebooks' in the September quarter.
Although the report does not specify additional information about the notebooks, two reliable sources, Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo, who have leaked Apple information in the past, both expect Apple to announce a budget laptop this year too. Mark predicts the laptop to have a starting price of $999 for the base model.
It will most likely replace the MacBook Air, but the branding is currently unclear. The Air hasn't seen any major updates or large spec bumps in the last three years. The MacBooks were last updated in June 2017 and could see another update later this year.
Another Taiwanese publication company Economic Daily News, said the notebook will be powered by Intel's eighth-generation chip and could have screen improvements too.
We will now be waiting on Apple's September or October event where it seems they will have a lot of new devices for us, including this notebook laptop. We'll be writing about the releases when they are announced.
