The all new Apple Watch Series 4 has been launched. Here is what we know.
The Apple Watch series 4 is very much a re-engineered version of the Apple Watch series. It will come in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm. It retains the original, iconic design but has been developed and refined. This includes many great upgrades such as resulting in a much thinner device. The new display is over 30% larger and it is overall a more rounded display. The edges of the display are now rounded also. The digital crown has also been totally re-engineered now with precise haptic feedback as you scroll. The colours offered in Apple Watch series 4 are as follows, Silver, Gold and Space Grey in Aluminum, White, Gold and Space Black in Stainless Steel. The same Apple Watch bands will work on all 5 generations of Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch series 4 will contain Apple’s next-generation S4, 64-bit dual-core processor that’s been designed to perform two times faster. Apple Watch Series 4 will have the same 18-hour, all-day battery life.
Monitors and features
The Apple Watch Series 4 will run Apple’s new operating system, WatchOS 5. It comes along with a variety of improvements, such as enhanced fitness and health tracking and specialised Watch faces. It will include a new fall detection feature. You will now receive a notification if your heart rate appears to be too low which could mean that your heart isn’t pumping enough blood to the body. Built into the device users can now take an electrocardiogram (ECG) the first of its kind in a consumer device.
