Apple Watch Series 4: ‘The biggest thing to happen to Apple Watch since Apple Watch.’
In about one month from now, Apple will have their annual product launch. We have gotten a new watch each year since the birth of Apple Watch in 2015 (we even got 2 new watches in 2016) and this year will be no different.
Last year Apple launched the Series 3 Apple Watch. It was an impressive leap for Apple as it included a new cellular option which allowed people to travel freely anywhere and use their Apple Watch without requiring it to be paired to their iPhone for cellular connection. It also got some basic internal upgrades such as the S3 and W2 chips.
However, this year is meant to spark a change for the Apple Watch. Here is everything we know about the Apple Watch Series 4:
Release Date: Expected to be mid to end September 2018
- Larger Display: It has been widely speculated, that the Apple Watch Series 4 will have a larger display size than its predecessors. These claims have been backed by the often reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He forecasts that the new Apple Watch will have a 15% increase in display size, a considerable amount for such a small display. The display is also expected to have a more curved edge rather than the squared edges on the current models.
- Larger and Slimmer: The Apple Watch could be getting larger and slimmer. This could coincide with the larger display sizes and would make the Watches more appealing to wear under clothes as the current design can seem bulky for some users.
- Solid State Buttons: Apple could replace the current physical button and digital crown with solid state haptic ones. This is according to "Fast Company", who say they have "a source with direct knowledge of Apple's plans". These solid state buttons would resemble the Home Buttons of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 models.
- It could be rounded: This is probably the most unlikely of the rumours. However, there is still a strong possibility that the Apple Watch Series 4 could be in a round form factor. Apple owns many patents for a rounded Watch. Just 8 months after they launched the original Apple Watch, they filed for a patent for a round watch and they have never stopped researching this. So, a rounded Apple Watch may be coming in the future, but it most likely won't be the Apple Watch Series 4.
-More advanced health sensors (glucose monitors and blood pressure gauge)
-Sleep sensors (Apple acquired Beddit)
-Always on Siri (like their latest Macbook Pro with the T2 Chip)
-Smart Bands (such as Watch bands that include a camera, extra battery or even more health sensors)
Pricing structure should stay very close to the current price with the current models being price cut.
