Both Apple Music and Spotify are well-known streaming services, but which one should you choose?
It can be difficult to choose between Apple Music and Spotify: prices are the same, and both services offer an option to listen offline to your saved music and to create playlists. To help you to make the choice, we're comparing both services.
Spotify offers over 30 million songs, with almost 20,000 added each day. Apple Music offers over 40 million songs. Beside, Apple Music has a contract with some major artists, which means exclusive songs can be found on Apple Music, for example from Taylor Swift. Some releases are also earlier released on Apple Music than on Spotify.
As mentioned earlier, Apple Music and Spotify cost the same:
With the family plan, you can listen with up to 6 people at the same time. To take a student subscription, you'll have to prove that you're on a university or other type of higher education.
What makes the difference between Apple Music and Spotify is that you are able to listen for free to all songs with Spotify, but you can't with Apple Music. With Apple Music, you can get a trial for only $0.99 for three months. After these three months, you'll have to quit Apple Music, or take a subscription mentioned above. However, I have to mention that you get worse sound quality and many ads with the free variant of Spotify.
How to use?
Both services are super easy to use. Spotify has an app which you can download directly from the App Store. After downloading, just log in or create an account and you're ready to listen to all music you want. Apple Music is already installed on an Apple device, called 'Music'. Just open the app, start a subscription and you're ready to go.
In terms of interface there are some differences: Apple Music uses the typical Apple interface you know from the App Store, iTunes and other stock applications. Spotify, however, uses its own, grey/black/green interface, with tabs, playlists and pages separated from each other.
If you already own an Apple device, or you want to get the latest music or exclusives first, you should get Apple Music. Otherwise, or if you don't want to have a paid subscription, go for Spotify.
Both streaming services are easy to use and offer many songs.
