Apple has announced the iPhone XR, with a load of new colours and more.
After announcing the Xs and Xs Max, the iPhone XR has been announced. The phone, a 6.1" device, will have an edge-to-edge, LCD display rather than OLED. It is the most advanced LCD display ever in a smartphone. The display is also called Liquid Retina, a new type of display by Apple. It has 1.4 million pixels, slightly less than the Xs versions, but features the 120Hz display from those higher-class iPhones. The display also has Tap to Wake with a Wide colour display and TrueTone as well.
The XR also has the TrueDepth camera with Face ID, containing the same improvements as the other iPhones.
The phone features the brand new Apple A12 Bionic processor inside, which will also help the AR Kit and new camera on the device.
A big removal - 3D Touch. It's gone only from the iPhone XR and has been replaced by what Apple calls Haptic Touch - like the buttons on the iPhone X lockscreen.
Unlike the iPhone Xs and Xs Max, it's important to note that this iPhone does not have waterproof (IP68) protection. Instead, it has IP67, like all current iPhones, meaning it is water resistant.
The iPhone XR is available in White, Black, Blue, Corel, Yellow, and there's also a PRODUCT (Red) edition as well. You will get the phone with either 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage. The iPhone XR starts from $749, cheaper than the iPhone 8 Plus was when it first launched.
There are also additional camera improvements. We'll update the article with those, and publish a full comparison of all the new iPhones. Let us know your thoughts!
