After Apple, Amazon is the second biggest company in the world.
Today Amazon has hit the $1 trillion market cap price, becoming only the second company to reach that.
Their shares briefly crossed the $2,050.27 mark in trading today, giving the online retail giant a market cap of $1,000,000,000,000 based on it's latest total of outstanding shares.
Apple became the world's first trillion dollar company around 5 weeks ago, just beating Amazon to the top spot. It's unlikely that Amazon will take Apple's first place. Other tech rivals, Microsoft and Google are next in line, with a market price of $840-850.
Amazon competes with Apple in digital assistants, Music services, and soon-to-be, video-streaming services.
