Everything to know about the new iPhones' Specs, pricing and features.
This year, Apple is to announce three new iPhones to add to their lineup, which should all be based on the 2017 iPhone X design, with a notch. We know some information about the pricing, specs and exclusive features.
5.8" iPhone 11
Is expected to again have an 480-500 PPI (pixels per inch) OLED display, Apple's A12 processor, better LTE capabilities and Face ID Gen 2. This one will have a dual camera (better than last year's) on the back, stainless steel and glass design and also 4GB of RAM.
6.1" iPhone 9
This phone's expected to be 2018's budget iPhone, possibly replacing the SE. It will have the A12 processor, better LTE, Face ID Gen 2, and 3GB of RAM. The back will feature a single camera, with a aluminium and glass design, rather than steel. Because it's a budget phone, it may not come with wireless charging and Apple may remove 3D Touch from it too.
6.5" iPhone 11 Plus
Again, to have an OLED screen, and be a larger version of the 5.8 inch version. It will too have Face ID 2nd Gen, A12 processor, the stainless steel and glass design, with also 4GB of RAM. This will support a larger battery, plus possibly dual-SIMs, and have a better camera too.
The price of this one may be down from last year's one for the base storage model, and start at around $800-$900, going up into the $1000 mark for the 512GB version.
As this is the budget, LCD model, we can expect a starting price of around $700-$800, just not as cheap the iPhone 7, because of the new design and features inside.
iPhone 11 Plus
The big new phone this year will most likely start at around $1000-$1200, depending on what storage capacity you would want. It's important to note that Apple may change these prices depending on what region you are in.
It's rumoured that Apple is experimenting with different colours this year and there will be a bunch of new colours introduced. There may be a new Space Grey colour, white version, Orange/gold, blue and many more, but it's not known if they will be specific to certain models or not. The budget iPhone will most likely see less choice when it comes to colours. Apple will also introduce a PRODUCT (RED) version around March time, bringing this limited-time colour to the lineup too.
Last year's was the A11, and extremely powerful, beating the new Note 9 and other Android phones on the market. We can bet that this year's processor is even faster, and will have a benchmark score of 12,300+! This will come to all three 2018 iPhones, and may also save the battery more too.
Face ID 2nd Generation
Well, Touch ID is gone from the iPhones, so Face ID is obviously coming. We're not sure if Apple will bring out a 2nd version of the Face software, but they might, and it could come with landscape support, multiple faces and improved security.
Apple Pencil Support
We've wanted it for ages, many sources have seemingly confirmed it's coming, but only to the Plus model (which makes a lot of sense). It will be good for taking quick notes and annotations. It would be sold separately, just like the iPads.
New 512GB Storage
Apple could be copying Samsung and adding a new storage capacity to the line up - 512GB. This would replace 64GB on the newer models, possibly. There have been many leaks and suggestions that this is happening this year.
Only on the Plus model, the iPhone could support two SIM cards. Leaks from iOS 12's code have confirmed that this is coming, but experts are unsure if this is for every region, or only China.
This year's expensive iPhone models are expected to be ditching the headphone-to-lightning adapter in the box, and adding a new Fast-Charging plug instead. Currently, you have to buy a fast charging plug separately, so this will be great for consumers.
Apple's a little bit behind in the camera game now, so we may see a boost in camera quality for the rear camera on all three models, however no-one is certain about this update yet.
That's it! There's probably loads more, but we don't like spoiling things, so wait until early September to find out officially.
Author's Note: Everyone is unsure of the names of the iPhones. I personally think they will be the iPhone 11, iPhone 9 and iPhone 11 Plus, but my concepts show the iPhone X Plus.
