What we think about the iPad Pro 3, Mac Mini and MacBook Air 2018

Here's what our team thinks of the new Apple products. 

So recently, Apple announced the MacBook Air, iPad Pro 3 and Mac Mini. They were all major upgrades to the previous generation products, and we've seen mixed reviews online. 

We got together the team's thoughts on the new products, and here's what they think. 

Mac Mini

Bram B, Owner: "I think these are great new improvements and color overall, but overpriced in my opinion." 

Ben W, Co-Owner: "Again, another expensive product, but I like the new colour and upgrades in general! I love the fact that Apple has kept so many "old" ports on the Mac Mini - that's great. I won't be getting it, but it's good the pros that need it "

Wesley N, Writer: " Finally there was a new Mac Mini. Many downgrade this tiny device but it has  the same purpose as a Windows desktop computer. The power Apple was able to put in is crazy, it’s not my number one but it’s a cool device. "

Shane P, Writer: "Is an advancement to an already advanced technology. The Mac Mini is a refined and extremely powerful version of an already very advanced device. The power of this Mac will blow away most high end PCs"

MacBook Air 2018

Bram B, Owner: "After the iPad Pro, the best update of the October event. Reduced bezels, the new design and incredible internals make this MacBook Air a very good laptop. However, it’s sad, but it was predictable, that Apple has removed the glowing Apple logo and replaced it with a glossy one (which also looks good, but not as remarkable as the glowing Apple logo). Also, the MacBook Air should be relatively cheap, for students, but the price has risen too much. "

Ben W, Co-Owner : "This is an amazing update. It's the MacBook design we love with amazing new internals, that can even edit 4K. I was going to get this soon, but the only thing letting it down is the storage for the money and the worry if editing would be slower in the next year or two. Nice update! "

Wesley N, Writer : "The MacBook Air has also received some big  upgrades, the screen is now much better then the old one which I really like. I am still using the Macbook Air 2017 but seeing this makes me reconsider. "

Shane P, Writer: " Like the Mac Mini update, the MacBook Air update was very much a necessary update to quite dated technology. The 2018 MacBook Air is an extremely powerful device, tailored to creators. It goes beyond what we imagined was possible in the first MacBook Air’s slim body. Although the interior technology is very much top of the market and capable of competing with Apple’s own MacBook, I was glad to see Apple kept somethings that are unique to the MacBook Air, such as the wedge design and screen opening cut-out. As Apple say: “Lightness strikes again.”

iPad Pro 3

​Bram B, Owner: "Has an incredible new design, finally with reduced bezels. It’s insane that this iPad Pro is better than many laptops when looking at the benchmarks. Finally we also see a new Apple Pencil "

Ben W, Co-Owner : "A really nice update to iPad, and great that the Pencil has been updated. The screen is amazing and the design futuristic. I won't be getting it because I prefer computers over iPad, as they can do some much more. iOS really lets this iPad down - nothing else (article soon)" 

Wesley N, Writer : "The iPad Pro has gotten major improvements in the screen but also in the specs, which now resembles a MacBook Pro in terms of specs. "

Shane P, Writer: " I believe the iPad Pro is biggest advancement in Apple’s lineup in year 2018. It is so exiting to see the future of Apple’s technology and the iPhone X like design that soon will come standard on iPads, and eventually will heighten the standard of all tablets and even laptops. iPad is the most popular notebook, and with iPad Pro, it the most loved and best"
