Updated! Apple has blocked me from being able to contact them online.
So myself, just like many others, needs support at time, and Apple Support is the place to go. In fact, Apple's support group is so good that it's been voted the best company for support with a score of 93/100.
However, today, I needed to get onto their support page and check if they still supported a product and failed to do so. The page comes up with an '403 Forbidden' error and fails to go any further. The direct link I am trying to get to is https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=cups.
Firstly, I tried opening the link in Safari (I use Chrome as my main browser). This failed, so I checked online and on Apple Communities, but no luck. I then cleared my cookies in Google Chrome and reloaded the link.
Again, still no luck. I believe that Apple has actually blocked me from contacting them online and this has happened to other people I know who tend to contact Apple a bit. I then tried a VPN from the Chrome Store and reloaded the website... and guess what? It worked.
I turned off the VPN and... no luck. The only way I'll be able to contact Apple now is through their Twitter or using the VPN. I'll be getting in touch to ask why I'm seeing the error.
They may not have blocked me. It might be an error - but I can't seem to find similar reports online of recent encounters. We'll update the article with any results from Apple, and I'll try again soon.
Update 1: After getting in touch with Apple, they confirmed this was a mistake and could be do with some system maintenance that took place the other day. I am now able to contact Apple again luckily.
