In 2018, Apple’s year ended on a not so positive note. The decrease in stock price and the lack of demand for their top flagship iPhones was one important factor that negatively affected the company.
Recently, we've done an Xmas Easter Egg competition. Omar R. is the winner and has written this amazing article for you to read!
Now that 2018 is over and 2019 has just started; it opens the door of possibility for the iPhone to grow in demand and innovation.
However, if Apple was able to integrate a new feature or create a redesign such as they did on the iPhone X model, then it would surely increase their iPhone sales. Now one of the most interesting features rumored in the “iPhone XI” is the in-display Touch ID according to Jean Baptiste Su, a Principal Analyst at Atherton Research. While this feature seems amazing it is hard to assume that Apple will actually integrate this technology in 2019 since it contradicts another analyst such as Min Chi Kuo who is very credible.
Also in 2018, Apple released the “budget” iPhone XR which came with a $749 dollar price tag. While it is cheaper than the XS and XS Max, it is still very expensive for the average person. I believe that if the prices were reduced on both the XR and on the XS line, then it would allow for more people to switch or upgrade their iPhones. The price reduction can be a major factor for someone who might currently be satisfied with their iPhone 6s or even 5s and is interesting in getting a newer model but is discouraged because of the prices.
