Apple has confirmed they are always removing illegal gambling apps from the App Store in China.
Yesterday, Apple confirmed that is has been removing lots of illegal gambling apps and developers that make them, from the App Store in China.
CCTV, Chinese state broadcaster, claimed 25,000 apps have been removed as of Sunday 19th, but Apple did not confirm any exact figures. If this is correct, that would be less than 2 percent of the 1.8 million apps on the App Store in China.

Earlier this month, Apple begun cracking down on these illegal apps, telling developers the following explanation:
They do say, however, that verified accounts of businesses may still submit gambling apps for distribution in the App Store. It also seems, according to MacRumours, that apps having little to do with gambling have been banned too, and it doesn't just seem to be in China either.
Apple follows the Chinese government's demands, and has also been removing many VPN apps from the China App Store.
